Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Why should I use BioWeapon instead of Pump Gas? BioWeapon is more ecologically friendly and makes more power. Trackside delivery is convenient and allows a rider to fuel a bike without leaving the saddle. Pump Gas is Seasonally blended and subject to the quality control of the Station providing it and the truck delivering it to the station. Pump gas contains contaminates from metal pumps and tanks, as well as the rubber hoses that dispense and transfer fuel. BioWeapon is transferred directly from a 4000G centrifuge into the drum delivered to the rider. This means that BioWeapon is contaminate free down to sub-micron particles. Pump gas may also contain ethanol which robs power and mileage can potentially harm engines and fuel systems.
  2. What is the Octane rating of BioWeapon Race Fuel? BioWeapon is 93.3 octane.
  3. Does BioWeapon Race Fuel contain Ethanol? No. BioWeapon contains no Ethanol.
  4. Is BioWeapon an oxygented fuel? No. BioWeapon is not oxygenated.
  5. Can I leave BioWeapon in my tank? Yes. There is no need to drain BioWeapon from your fuel tank after a track day or race.
  6. How does BioWeapon age? BioWeapon stores better than most race fuels. Once a drum has been opened, the fuel inside should be consumed within a month to ensure maximum performance. Furthermore, the drum should be resealed with its cap when not dispensing fuel. BioWeapon’s biological components have a much higher distillation temperature than the feedstock gasoline that they are blended with. When exposed to air, gasoline evaporates much faster effectively “richening” the ratio of bio in the fuel. The resulting symptom of this is smoke in the exhaust. The cause of the smoke is from the extra oil surviving the combustion chamber and burning off in the exhaust. There is no harm in this, but the smoke and increased “grilled chicken” odor become apparent.
  7. Can BioWeapon harm my engine like alcohol based or oxygenated fuels? No. BioWeapon is not corrosive and will not harm the components of your engine or fuel system.
  8. In what kind of container does BW Fuel offer BioWeapon? BioWeapon is offered in either steel or recycled plastic drums.
  9. What is the shelf life of BioWeapon Race Fuel? BioWeapon will keep for 12+ months in a plastic drum, and 24+ months in a steel drum.
  10. Will storing BioWeapon in a vented container have any effect? Storing BioWeapon in avented container will cause it to lose potency.
  11. Can I use BioWeapon Race Fuel in my 2-stoke engine? Yes. BioWeapon can be used in 2-stroke engines, but the ratio of per-mix oil must be reduced. This reduction is vehicle dependent.
  12. What is meant by the term ‘Pump Gas’ in BioWeapon marketing materials? All tests involving “pump gas” refer to BP 93 octane ethanol free gasoline.
  13. How does BioWeapon affect my catalytic converter? BioWeapon is currently undergoing long-term testing for use with catalytic converters, but has shown no immediate signs of negative effects.
